La Baraka
About us
Hospitality, tradition, and the joy of gathering have guided this family-owned French-North African restaurant in Little Neck for more than four decades. La Baraka in Queens, NY helped introduce couscous to a wider audience, and its menu still carries that history through Couscous Royal, house merguez, and escargot with garlic and parsley. A warm, vintage character and quiet, intimate atmosphere suit date nights, family meals, and time with friends. Attentive service keeps each visit personal, while vegetarian choices offer added flexibility. Reservations, online ordering, and catering make the experience easier to plan. Come in, settle down, and discover the flavors of French cuisine with a touch of North Africa and the care that continues to shape every table.

It's easy to understand why some restaurants endure for decades: all it takes is a combination of superb food, consistently prepared, and warm service. Our restaurant in Little Neck captured the attention of food lovers in the 1970s as one of the first restaurants to introduce couscous — the signature dish of North African cuisine — to a wider audience. The dish features grainy semolina, also called couscous, topped with lamb kebab, chicken, flank steak, and merguez, a homemade spicy lamb sausage. Decades later, it remains on the menu and is every bit as delicious today.
